Making Easter cards – 4 simple ideas

Homemade cards are something special. For grandparents, parents, friends, or simply to hang at home: With these four simple ideas, you can create beautiful Easter cards together with your child.

And the best part – you probably already have the material at home:

This is what you need:

  • Thick A6 paper (e.g. watercolor paper)
  • Washi tape
  • Watercolors and brushes
  • Black pen
  • Scissors

All the ideas are very simple and fun even for little artists. And the best part: When the cards are finished, you canJAMU picture frames for postcards to hang and store beautifully.

Idea 1

Glue a strip of washi tape across your A6 card. Use watercolors to paint an Easter egg over it – very loosely; it doesn't have to be perfect. Small imperfections are what make it special. Let everything dry thoroughly and then peel off the tape. You can now write your Easter greeting in the empty strip.

Idea 2

Tape the edges of your A6 card with washi tape to create a beautiful frame. Now, paint wide stripes across the card with watercolors. Let the colors touch and blend together for a vibrant look. A few splashes of paint with a brush add extra zest to the image. Cut two small pieces of paper, write your Easter greeting on them, and glue them slightly offset onto the colorful stripes. And your card is finished!

Idea 3

Lay your A6 card horizontally and stick a piece of washi tape in the center. On top of that, draw three Easter eggs in your favorite colors. Once the paint is dry, you can loosely trace the outlines with a thin black marker. Add a few splashes of color for a special effect—and draw small flowers around the eggs. Then peel off the washi tape and write your Easter greeting in the empty space. Your cheerful spring card is ready!

Idea 4

If painting doesn't work out the way you want, no problem! Simply draw your Easter egg on a separate sheet of paper, cut it out, and divide it in half. Glue the two halves onto your A6 card, leaving some space between them. You can write your Easter wishes in the space between them. Simple, creative, and still very special!
